My Mom absolutely loved Christmas. So much so that she kept a tree up in her house and hair salon year round...she would just change the decorations with the holidays. She loved that tree...we even put it up in the church for her funeral. When she passed I inherited most of her decorations. I love them not only because they were hers but because most of them were actually made by her too. So without further ado here are a few of my favorite Christmas decorations:
The Fisherman Santa
This of course wasn't made by my Mom but it was one of her all time favorite pieces in her collection & I love it just as much.
The Santa Faux Birdhouse
Hand Painted by my Mom.
Santa's Reindeer
Stitched & Quilted by Mom.
Santa Candy Cane
Hand painted by my Mom
Santa Candle Holder
Hand painted by my Mom
Velvet Santa
The face was sculpted by my Mom & then she sewed the rest out of velvet.
And my most favorite decoration ever...maybe my most favorite thing ever. My Christmas Stocking:
My Mom stitched it for me when I was in middle school and then our pastors wife, who was a professional seamstress, sewed it all together with velvet & satin.
Those are just a few. I also have my Mom's Christmas Village. It didn't make an appearance this year because there just isn't a place to put it that little hands won't find it :) So maybe next year.
Now tell me about your favorite Christmas thing...it can be a decoration, family tradition, holiday movie or song...anything :) One lucky commenter will receive a $10.00 GC to my store.
